2007 Umpqua Valley Pinot Blanc
Our pinot blanc is sourced from Red Hill Vineyard which at 1300’ is the highest elevation vineyard in the Umpqua Valley. This fruit is always very rich in acid which led to the decision to barrel ferment this wine. We use all older barrels for the fermentation and aging. The idea is to get the contributions of extended lees contact without oak toast. We stir the lees which develops a creamy, yeasty complexity and contributes to a rich mouthfeel. We age the wine in barrel for one year. The wine has aromas of green apples and pineapples with toast and lemon zest. The flavors have quince and wild sage with a crème brulee texture and a tangy, cleansing acid finish. This wine would serve very well with seared scallops and pan reduced wine a butter sauce.

2008 Umpqua Valley Pinot Gris

We source our pinot gris from South Fork Vineyard on an alluvial bench of the South Umpqua River. The wine is a lovely pale straw in color. We ferment this wine cool in tank to preserve the fresh floral, herbal and tropical fruit notes and the refreshing acidity. The aromas are a lush combination of golden delicious apples, tropical pineapple and guava with spice notes of jasmine highlighted by white pepper and sage. The entry is full and unctuous and the dominant flavors continue the apple and pineapple themes. The acid is crisp and the finish is long and lingering. We finish our pint gris bone dry and yet the fruit and texture suggest a continuing sweet fruit impression.

2007 Umpqua Valley Riesling
The Bradley vineyard in Elkton was the source for our 2007 riesling. The fruit was harvested October 26 during a dry spell of a wet season. The grapes were very clean with very little botrytis and brought in with 22 degrees Brix, pH3.15 and with .85TA. The juice was fermented in tanks chilled to 50 degrees F for nearly two months using a variety of yeasts. The wine is a luminescent pale straw color with aromas of nectarine, Meyers lemon zest, fresh snap peas, wild flower honey and a steely wet slate minerality. The nectarine carries the flavors with notes of toasted almonds, minerality and bright acidity. The finish is moderately long and dry with a cleansing hint of sweet fruit balanced by the acid. he Bradley vineyard in Elkton was the source for our 2007 riesling. Northwest Palate May/June 2009
Fresh and forward spicy lemon/lime scents are blended with light grassy notes on the nose. Tart and dry on the tongue. Bright flavors of apple, lime, and peach are accented with tones of green tea and minerality. Fresh and punchy, with strong acidity and an appealing austerity. Serve this wine with pan fried trout.
2008 Umpqua Valley Gewürztraminer
We source our gewürztraminer from the Bradley Vineyard in Elkton, which is proving to be a world class terroir for this varietal. The wine is shimmering pale golden color with hints of green around the edges. The nose is a complex blend of floral, spice and fruit characters consistent to this exotic variety. There is evident leeche, tea rose, pink grapefruit and pie spices in the aromas. The mouthfeel and textures are an intriguing blend of sweet tropical fruit with a pithy grapefruit acidity keeping the whole impression in balance. The finish is long and the mouthfeel is full and rich.
